Q: A female student studying at a girls' madressa was given talaaq (divorce) in this manner: 'I give you talaaq, talaaq, talaaq'. The husband also mentioned: 'You must get out', and threw her clothes out. How many talaaqs take place? Can she come and study during her iddat? She is 3 months pregnant?
A: Three Talaaqs has taken place. (Fataawa Darul Uloom, Azeezul Fataawa V4 P256) She will not become Halaal for her husband until she remarries someone else and gets divorced or the (second) husband dies. A woman in Iddah is not even allowed to go for Haj or Umrah. She will definitely not be allowed to leave her home to study. (Fataawa Al Hindiyyah)
