Q: What does Hajre Aswad mean?
A: Hajre Aswad means 'the black stone'. The Ahaadeeth mention that this stone came from Jannah and originally it was whiter than milk in colour. The sins of man blackened it. (Tirmidhi V3 P226)

This stone is placed at the corner of the Ka'bah Shareef.
