Using Nail Polish during Menstruation

Q: Can a woman use nail polish during haidh?

A: Woman should avoid using nail polish, be it during menstruation or after. Any adornment or beautification should remain within the ambit of Shariah. For instance, Shariah has permitted women to use Mehndi (henna) on the hands, so a female should confine herself to this. However, if polish has been used, then when she is paak (free from menstruation) she must ensure that at the time of making wudhu and ghusl, it is completely removed from the nails, otherwise her tahaarat or cleansing will not be complete.
